Greenhouse Gases

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon Dioxide, also known as CO2, is one of the main greenhouse gases attributed to global warming. There are natural processes like volcanic eruptions, fires, decomposition, and just the breathing process of expelling CO2 from living things's lungs as well as human causes. Human’s burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and other reasons is a major part of CO2 emissions.

Methane

Methane comes from decomposing plant-matter, livestock’s organic matter, and natural gases. It also comes from landfills, rice farming, and fossil fuel leaks.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide is emitted due to farming practices, burning plant-matter, and burning fossil fuels.

Chlorofluorocarbons

Chlorofluorocarbons, or CFCs for short, are an unnatural compound created by humans. They’re used in refrigerators, dissolving agents, and propellants.
